G2 Outlast 100 Thieves 2–1 in Kickoff 2026 Playoffs
G2 Esports survived a three-map battle against 100 Thieves, winning 2–1 in the VCT Americas: Kickoff 2026 playoffs. After trading Bind and Corrode, G2 closed the series on Split to keep their triple-elimination run on track.

G2 Esports opened the next stage of their VCT Americas: Kickoff 2026 playoff run with a hard-fought 2–1 win over 100 Thieves, taking Bind (13–11) and Split (13–6) while dropping Corrode (3–13) in between. In a triple-elimination format, results like this are huge: every win buys breathing room, and every loss shifts your path into tougher “must-win” territory later in the bracket.
The series started on Bind, where G2 edged out a tight map 13–11, doing just enough in the late rounds to prevent 100T from stealing the opener. 100 Thieves answered back on Corrode with a commanding 13–3 win—an emphatic reset that tied the match and forced a decider.
On Split, G2 regained control and closed the series 13–6, securing the 2–1 and moving forward in the bracket. Even in the loss, 100 Thieves had standout performances—Cryocells topped the server with 61 kills, keeping 100T dangerous in every phase of the match. For G2, leaf’s 52 kills helped anchor their map-to-map consistency in a series that swung sharply between momentum shifts.
With the win, G2 advance to face FURIA vs G2 Esports on January 31, 2026. 100 Thieves drop into their next lower-path matchup against LOUD vs 100 Thieves on January 23, 2026, where the margin for error gets thinner as the triple-elimination bracket progresses.
